Brownfield Redevelopment:
Schoolcraft County has recently created a county-wide
Brownfield Redevelopment Authority to encourage
the reuse of industrial, commercial and other
property by offering economic incentives for redevelopment.
Schoolcraft has been selected for two assessments
grants from the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), $200.000 for hazardous substances and $200,000
for petroleum substances. Grant funds will be
used to identify and prioritize Brownfield properties,
draft Brownfield plans and conduct outreach activities
throughout Schoolcraft County.
